Ground Beef and Egg Sandwich Ingredients
Let’s take a look at the simple ingredients.
Ground Meat: I used lean ground beef (80/20) for the burger patties. Ground turkey or ground chicken can be used.
If you’re in the mood, mix some ground pork or spicy sausage meat in with the beef. Make the meat mixture half beef and half sausage.
Bacon: Use your favorite kind. Bacon is delicious on everything! Turkey bacon is also an option!
Seasonings: I like to mix Weber’s Salt-Free Burger Seasoning in the ground beef and sprinkle Everything But The Bagel Seasoning on top of the egg.
Other seasonings that can be used: garlic powder, onion powder, Italian herbs, salt and pepper, or even chili powder. Use minced garlic and a splash of Worcestershire sauce in the meat mixture for more flavor.
Eggs: Large eggs work best.
Cheese: A variety of cheeses can be used. I prefer sliced cheddar cheese.
Other popular cheeses are shredded parmesan cheese and American cheese. Use pepper jack cheese if you like a little heat on your eggs or burger!
Avocado: Sliced tomato can be a great alternative.
Spinach: Spinach is a great way to add some rich vitamins to your hamburger but use whatever greens you have in the fridge.
Buns: I used buns with sesame seeds because I had them on hand. Delicious options are English muffins, bagels, plain hamburger buns, or croissants.
Garlic Herb Butter: Used to add a little extra seasoning to the grilled buns but completely optional.

Frequently Asked Questions
Should you let ground beef come to room temperature before cooking?
Let ground beef sit at room temperature for about 15 minutes before cooking.
Placing cold ground beef straight into a hot pan from the fridge makes all the juices of the meat to be released which can cause a burger to be dry and chewy.
What is the best kind of pan to cook hamburgers in?
You can cook a hamburger on just about any hot flat surface, a cast iron skillet works best.
Cast iron skillets are known to cook evenly, retain heat, and give a nice sear to meat.
How do you store leftover burgers?
Store leftover breakfast burgers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
