  1. Combine hash browns with all the ingredients except 1 cup of the cheese in a large mixing bowl and stir until completely mixed together.

2. Grease the 9″ x 13″ casserole dish with cooking spray and spread hash brown mixture in it.

Ingredients

  • 32 ounces shredded frozen hash browns
  • 16 ounces (1 pint) sour cream
  • 3 cups of shredded cheddar cheese (or 2 cup of cheddar and 1 cup of gruyere, colby, or white sharp cheddar)
  • 1 - 10.5 ounce cream of chicken soup
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick salted butter) melted
  • 1 medium onion finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon of ground pepper

Instructions

  1. Thaw and pat dry the hash browns.
  2. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  3. Combine hash browns with all the ingredients except 1 cup of the cheese in a large mixing bowl and stir until completely mixed together.
  4. Grease the 9" x 13" casserole dish with cooking spray and spread hash brown mixture in it.
  5. Bake for 45 minutes.
