Ingredients
- 32 ounces shredded frozen hash browns
- 16 ounces (1 pint) sour cream
- 3 cups of shredded cheddar cheese (or 2 cup of cheddar and 1 cup of gruyere, colby, or white sharp cheddar)
- 1 - 10.5 ounce cream of chicken soup
- 1/2 cup (1 stick salted butter) melted
- 1 medium onion finely chopped
- 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon of ground pepper
Instructions
- Thaw and pat dry the hash browns.
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Combine hash browns with all the ingredients except 1 cup of the cheese in a large mixing bowl and stir until completely mixed together.
- Grease the 9" x 13" casserole dish with cooking spray and spread hash brown mixture in it.
- Bake for 45 minutes.
- Add extra cheese on top of the casserole and bake an additional 10 minutes or until cheese is completely melted on top.
- Remove from oven and cool for 5 minutes on a wire rack.
